Naval Base employee threatened with a firearm

REGIONAL Investigations Unit officers have charged a 25-year-old man with armed robbery and burglary offences.

It will be alleged that at around 4.30pm on April 29, the man in company with another, stole a vehicle after taking it for a test drive from a residential address in Port Kennedy.

Later that evening, at around 9.50pm, police claim the men used the vehicle to travel to a business premises in Naval Base.

It is alleged they were disturbed by an employee while carrying out a burglary on the premises. Police claim one of the men produced a firearm and threatened the employee before they left the area.

In the early hours of April 30, it is alleged the men entered a house in Attadale with another person, where they stole a wallet and keys to a Hilux and Holden Commodore.

Both cars were taken from the house and the victim's credit cards were allegedly used to purchase items at service stations.

A 25-year old man of Rockingham has been charged with two counts of aggravated burglary and commit, aggravated armed robbery, three counts of stealing a stealing a motor vehicle, two counts of fraud and stealing. He will appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today.
