New Lakelands Shopping Centre construction well underway

THE site of the new Lakelands Shopping Centre has become a hive of activity with construction of the $50 million project well under way.

The 20,000sq m shopping complex is set to open by June 2017.

It will include Coles and Aldi supermarkets, K-Mart, a Coles Express service station, 40 specialty shops and service providers, medical centre and pharmacy, fast food outlets, and a childcare centre.

Lakelands has become home to more than 1400 households since lots went on sale in 2003 and is expected to house more than 2400 families when the last lots have been sold.
