NEW theatre company Beyond the Yard brings 52 Hertz to the Blue Room Theatre, Northbridge later this month

Inspired by the story of the loneliest whale in the world, 52 Hertz follows the lives of five characters seeking a connection to someone, something or even a whale across the deep blue.

The cast includes Anna Lindstedt, a Curtin University graduate from Rockingham who recently performed at the Blue Room Theatre in Toast.

Under Terence Smith’s direction, 52 Hertz uses text and movement to explore the themes of loneliness, disconnection and isolation in a contemporary world.

It is a play about the need and desire to connect to others, a story about me, a story about you and a story for anyone who has ever felt they call out at a different frequency to the world around them.

Beyond the Yard, a company of young emerging artists based in Perth aims to create new Australian works focused on giving a voice to under-represented social issues through innovative and refreshing mediums.
