A SUGGESTION to decorate the office of L. Jeffery Accountants for the football finals ended up surprising staff with the extent of the ensuing shrine to sport.
Roxanne D’Alessandro was delighted when her boss, Lynn Jeffery, agreed to her idea.
“I said to Lynn we should decorate the office and he agreed,” Ms D’Alessandro said.
“I’m not sure that he quite had this in mind though.”
Growing up supporting South Fremantle was the natural precursor to becoming a big Dockers fan.
“I pretty much spent my childhood at Freo oval,” she said.
“They’re either really happy or miserable Eagles supporters who want us to rip it all down,” she said.
“Of the six staff, four of us support the Dockers. The other two, well they don’t follow football.”
“It’s why our business colours are purple and white.”
Ms D’Alessandro was excited both WA teams are in the finals.
“I’m hoping for a western derby grand final, it’s good for the state that they’ve had the finals here,” she said.
“Obviously everyone here is tipping the Dockers.”
A trip over east for the grand final came down to priorities, said Ms D’Alessandro.
“I went last year to the grand final, but I’m not going this year,” she said.
“I say no, but then again…”
“No I can’t, it’s tax time, the boss won’t let me skip that.”
Ms D’Alessandro was pleased to work for an ethical workplace, accepting all types.
“We don’t discriminate. We will see Eagles clients,” she said.
