Overnight Rockingham house fire causes $100,000 in damage

POLICE are on the scene after a house fire caused $100,000 of damage to a Rockingham property overnight.

The blaze started just after 1am this morning at a vacant unit on Safety Bay Road.

12 fire-fighters attended the blaze and managed to extinguish it approximately two hours after it was first reported.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Service spokesman confirmed the blaze had caused a loss of around $100,000 and police were currently investigating the matter.
