Parmelia man (35) facing charges after 62kg of cannabis found at home

A 35-year-old Parmelia man has been charged with a string of offences after a joint operation by WA Police, Australian Federal Police and the Australian Crime Commission uncovered a large amount of drugs, cash and ammunition.

On June 8, the man was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs with the intent to supply.

Searches of the man’s home and bushland in Perth’s south led Police to around 62kg of compressed cannabis head in cryovac bags, $99,850 cash and a high-powered rifle with ammunition.

The man was charged with possession of a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply, unlawful possession of cash, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

Almost three weeks later on Tuesday June 21, Police again searched the bushland, which yielded an additional 4kg of methamphetamine, 300 grams of suspected MDMA tablets and ammunition.

The accused will face Perth Magistrates Court on July 13.
