Kwinana MLA Roger Cook said a lease agreement for the site had been made with the Public Transport Authority and a development application formally approved by the WA Planning Commission after winning council support.
Telstra said it hoped to switch the tower on around October or November.
“This is great news for residents of Wellard, Parmelia, Orelia and Leda who may have faced issues with phone reception in the past,” Mr Cook said.
