Pinjarra man charged after vehicle stop allegedly uncovers gun, drugs

A PINJARRA man has been charged with drug and firearm offences after a vehicle stop in Baldivis last night.

About 11pm police saw a white Holden Commodore travelling at speed on the Kwinana Freeway near Safety Bay Road in Baldivis.

After stopping the vehicle, it will be alleged police found a sawn-off .22 calibre rifle, approximately 13 grams of methylamphetamine and ammunition.

A 43-year-old man from Pinjarra was arrested and charged with possessing a firearm with circumstances of aggravation and possessing a prohibited drug (methylamphetamine) with intent to sell or supply.

He was also charged with possession of cannabis, unlicensed possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia in which there was a prohibited drug or plant, reckless driving and possession of stolen property.

He was due to appear in Rockingham Magistrates Court on Friday morning.
