PLASTIC surgery is now available at Rockingham General Hospital, to offer relief to the south metropolitan’s outpatient and elective surgery waitlists.
Acute cases remain at Fiona Stanley Hospital but surgeries of low to medium complexity, including a significant number of skin cancer surgeries, are now being performed in Rockingham.
As part of this new service, which opened January 31, a plastics and wound care specialist nurse will provide advice to staff within the hospital.
The service was established in partnership with Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group, and Fremantle Hospital continues to cover less complex cases.
