AN old ammunition bunker at Point Peron received a much-needed facelift after soldiers from the 11/28th Battalion of the Royal West Australian regiment shoveled out a large build-up of sand last Sunday.
It was the fourth time the soldiers had lent a hand to help the Point Peron Restoration Project volunteers restore elements of the Point Peron K Battery.
Codenamed Operation Sandy Shovel, the troops cleared the entire entryway of the old ammunition bunker.
