Vanessa SchmittWeekend Kwinana Courier

A POLICE chase through Medina, Orelia and Parmelia this morning has resulted in a 30-year-old man being charged with reckless driving, obstructing police and driving without a licence.

Police claim a Holden Commodore was driving on Media Avenue at about 12.45am and police activated their emergency lights and sirens.

It is alleged the driver accelerated away and drove at speeds above the speed limit.

Police claim the man drove the vehicle through bushland and rammed through a wooden bollard and exited onto Oakley Place, Medina. The vehicle was significantly damaged, with smoke billowing from beneath the vehicle.

The alleged driver (the 30-year-old Beverley man) was arrested and charged. He is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court this morning.
