The driver of the vehicle that had been struck received minor injuries.

Police dog Rudy and his handler attended the scene, tracked a scent through bushland and located a key that had blood on it.

Rudy was re-deployed and continued tracking a scent through thick bushland, leading back out to Ennis Avenue, where a 31-year-old Port Kennedy man was located down an embankment about 300m from the crash scene.
