The mother took to social media, warning parents their children were “not 100 per cent safe at school”.

“Please make them aware that not all kids are nice at school and this sort of behaviour shouldn’t be tolerated and has to be reported.”

Police said the school was in the Peel policing region and there were no charges at this stage.

An Education Department spokeswoman said the school was working closely with police and sharing any information that may assist in their inquiry.

“The student has been offered the school’s full support,” she said.
