Police operation targeting volume crime nets results

TWO people have been charged with more than 40 offences after a Rockingham Police operation targeting individuals and syndicates involved in volume crime.

About 1.30pm yesterday, detectives saw a stolen Toyota Camry in a carpark on Mill Point Road in Como. It is alleged the driver failed to stop when requested and evaded police through South Perth, Manning and Brentwood. The vehicle was abandoned and two occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody.

A 40-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with offences such as stealing, stealing motor vehicles, aggravated burglary and reckless driving.

A 27-year-old woman from South Lake has been charged with seven counts of gains benefit by fraud, aggravated home burglary and commit and stealing.

The operation is ongoing.

The two people are due in Perth Magistrates Court today.
