Police seek more on Rockingham fatal crash

MAJOR crash investigators want to talk to anyone who witnessed a fatal crash in Rockingham on Monday, August 17.

At 3.20pm, a 92-year-old man was riding his dark coloured mountain bike on Read Street, travelling west from a service station on Chalgrove Avenue.

He was not wearing a helmet at the time he collided with a white Holden Cruze sedan that was being driven south along Read Street by an 86-year-old Port Kennedy man.

The cyclist suffered serious injuries and was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital.

He died the next morning.

The bicycle was fitted with a basket on the front and the cyclist was wearing a brown jacket and grey cap.
