Port Kennedy mother horrified to find baby son picked up syringe and put it in his mouth

PORT Kennedy mother Francie Jones was horrified when her 19-month-old son picked up a syringe and put it in his mouth at a bus stop in Port Kennedy this morning .

“I was waiting at a bus stop, the bus took longer than expected and Kai was getting agitated in his pram,” she said.

“I took him out of his pram and made sure he was holding on tight.

“First thing he does is bend down and pick something up, which inevitably goes to his mouth; this took less than a second.

“Thankfully I was watching and grabbed the syringe out of his hand and threw it far into the bushes.”

Ms Jones said she did not want to judge others for their life decisions, but pleaded with junkies to dispose of their syringes where others could not get them.

She also wanted to warn other mothers to be vigilant.

“This happened at the bus stop heading into (Secret Harbour),” she said.
