The month-long curated exhibition included guided site visits in the Medina historical precinct and culminated in a seminar on planning and heritage.
The initiative won the city the Promotion of Planning Award.
The City of Kwinana was one of four WA winners at the national awards hosted by the Planning Institute of Australia.
Judges described the exhibition as an intimate portrait of one of Western Australias most significant and influential town planners.
The retrospective provides a template for how other Australian jurisdictions can use their own history, culture and individual characters to expose the benefits of planning to the general community.
