Prodigious talent spins way to national camp

Gardiner was this week selected to attend a Cricket Australia (CA) Spin Camp to be held at the Bupa National Cricket Centre (NCC) next month, where he will work with CA spin program head coach John Davison and West Indies T20 specialist Samuel Badree.

The former White Knights Baldivis player was a member of WAs 2013-14 under-17s national championships squad, and holds the distinction of being the youngest ever player selected to play first-grade cricket for Rockingham-Mandurah.

Despite having this past season disrupted by injuries, Gardiner worked his way back into the Mariners first-grade team from fourth grade, where he eventually took 11 wickets in seven games at an average of 36.82.
