Raising more than $1500 in the lead up to the event, the Orelia mother of three says there will be plenty of motivation to get her through the 12km race from William Street, Perth to Gloucester Park.

Mrs McInerney will be running in memory of family and friends who have been affected by bowel cancer in recent years.

Over the past year, the aspiring athlete has lost more than 25kg and says her weight loss has helped in the preparation for this weekend’s race.
