Rebels bikie charged over WA extortion allegations

A REBELS bikie is among four people charged by the Gang Crime Squad over extortion allegations.

The 38-year-old patched member allegedly extorted money and equipment from a business owner in Rockingham.

WA Police said the 28-year-old victim was involved in a financial dispute with a 32-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman in February.

A commercial settlement was eventually reached, but the pair allegedly enlisted the help of two friends, including the Rebels member, to extort cash and equipment.

The 38-year-old bikie from Mandurah has been arrested along with a 39-year-old man from Meadow Springs and a 32-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, both from Halls Head.

They have each been charged with demanding property by oral threats.

The men were due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 25 April 25, and the woman will appear in court at a later date.
