UPDATE: Police claim parking inspector attacked in Mandurah

UPDATE: Police claim a parking officer was assaulted in central Mandurah yesterday.

It is alleged a man became involved in an altercation with the parking inspector (a man in his 50s) in a carpark on Smart Street, near Woolworths, at 10.30am.

Police claim the parking officer was assaulted and sustained multiple cuts to his head. He was taken to Peel Health Campus by St John Ambulance and required seven staples.

A Byford man (58) was charged with assaulting a public officer and is due to appear before Mandurah Magistrates Court on June 18.
