About 5.30pm on Sunday, Baldivis resident Kim Dawes posted a message on a Facebook group to float the idea of gathering donations to say thanks to fire fighters.
Just 24 hours later, Miss Dawes delivered an ‘amazing’ number of donations to the Baldivis Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade.
‘I went to the shop and saw the firefighters out in that heat in their full kit and thought about how hot it was just in my car, let alone standing out next to a fire,’ she said.
More than 30 bottles of wine, cartons of beer and items of food were donated.
‘The Baldivis community is strong,’ she said.
