The pair will clock up the kilometres over two days on October 19 and 20. Next Saturday, October 12, they are hosting a garden party fundraiser from 10am to 2pm in Rockingham to help them reach their goal of $5000.
It was a personal close call with the disease that led Mrs Firth to take part in the fundraiser.
‘My father was diagnosed with bowel cancer two years ago; luckily he is fine now but there are so many people battling cancer,’ she said.
The garden party includes a sausage sizzle, home made cakes, lucky dip and other games. For more information call 9591 3719.
