Road safety check

A car crashed into a retaining wall of a property near the intersection at Djilba View about 9pm.

There were no injuries and police are investigating the incident.

A resident near the crash site, who did not want to be named, said a slight bend in the road was a concern.

‘Sometimes people drive around the bend really fast and that can be dangerous if they lose control,’ he said.

Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams said the City would investigate as part of its ‘ongoing traffic management processes’.

‘Previous assessments of the road have not shown excessive average speeds,’ she said.

‘The most recent traffic data shows an average speed of 51.5 km/h. We will carry out visual site inspections during wet weather and look into whether this crash was the result of poor skid resistance of the road surface.’
