Vanessa SchmittWeekend Kwinana Courier

THE Garage Sale Trail is on October 21 and 22 and plenty of Rockingham and Kwinana groups have come on board.

The sustainability campaign aims to encourage people to reuse, reduce waste and connect with their community.

The Rockingham under-15s rugby union team is holding a garage sale to raise funds for a South African tour.

About 26 children will be going to South Africa to participate in four games.

Their garage sale is at 10 Ponders Cove, Safety Bay from 8am on the Garage Sale Trail weekend.

In Kwinana there will be a car boot sale at Medina Green and at That Place.

Port Kennedy Primary School are having garage sale and the CWA Baldivis Belles will raise funds for improving the lives of others.

Garage Sale Trail co-founder Andrew Valder said the event encourages Australians to think about how they can take responsibility for the waste they create.

“The great news is, items that are reused won’t end up in council collections or in landfill,” he said.
