THE Rockingham Christmas Lights Festival is set to impress next week.
The event will feature the inaugural Christmas Street Parade, the turning on of the Christmas lights, free children’s activities, roaming entertainment, community stalls selling handmade items and food vendors.
The parade will begin at 5.30pm at the Village Green. The parade brings together local dance, sport, music and community groups and will include a visit from Santa in his sleigh.

READ NOWCity of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels encouraged residents to come down and join in the festive cheer.
“The Rockingham Christmas Lights Festival is a great way to herald in the festive season and it is always a real thrill to turn on the Christmas lights,” he said.
“There will be range of food, entertainment and activities available,” he said.
“If you are lucky you might even be able to catch a glimpse of Santa in his sleigh during the first ever Christmas Street Parade beginning at the Village Green and winding down Flinders Lane to the carpark.”
The Rockingham Beach Foreshore Revitalisation project will be in its summer shutdown phase, so the festival will be a good opportunity for people to see what has been done so far.
Flinders Lane will be closed between 4.30pm and 7pm. This Christmas lights will be switched on at 8pm. Additional parking will be available at Dixon Road Reserve.
The festival is part of the City’s Summer Series of free, family-friendly, smoke-free and alcohol-free events.
