ROCKINGHAM Detectives are investigating a serious assault at the Val Street Jetty on Sunday, April 16.
Police said the male victim rode his bike to the jetty about midnight.
The victim sat and spoke with a woman for some time.

READ NOWAbout 4.20am, the victim was approached by a man who appeared to be fishing on the jetty, but was in possession a tomahawk.
After finishing the conversation with the woman, the victim walked away and the man punched the victim in the back of the head.
The victim turned around and was punched twice more to his face.
The victim was able to ride his bike home; he attended hospital later that day, where he was treated for a broken cheek bone and other head injuries.
The man who assaulted the victim was described as light skinned, 23 to 27 years of age, 165-175cm tall and medium build.
