ROCKINGHAM foreshore is set to be illuminated by a dazzling display of lights, music and spectacle this Saturday for the annual Christmas Lights Display.

The opening of the event will begin with a performance by the Red Hat Choir from 6.30pm, along with appearances by Santa and the White Alight illuminated stilt-walkers.

There will also be face painting for the children.

City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels will flick the switch for the lights just after dark about 7.40pm.

“It is always amazing to see the park light up and we look forward to creating another attractive display that will be enjoyed by Rockingham families and visitors alike,” he said.

He encouraged residents and visitors to explore the many Christmas window displays in businesses and shops along the foreshore.

He said there was a competition underway for the best window display and members of the community could vote for their favourite decorated window.

By voting for your favourite display there is a chance to win a $100 voucher from Lovell Jewellers.

Visit www.rockingham.wa.gov.au from December 3 to cast your vote.
