Rockingham man charged for leading police on chase

A ROCKINGHAM man allegedly led police on a dangerous pursuit on Saturday night with his child in the vehicle.

About 9:45pm last night, Police Airwing observed a white Ford Falcon sedan being driven erratically near Patterson Road, Rockingham.

Officers on the ground attempted to stop the vehicle on Read Street however, it is alleged the vehicle accelerated away in an attempt to evade police.

It is alleged that during the incident, the driver travelled faster than posted speed limits and crossed to the incorrect side of the road.

Police tracked the vehicle to a unit in Armadale where the driver, passenger and child (under 2 years) exited the vehicle.

A 30-year-old man from Rockingham has been charged with reckless driving; dangerous to the public or any person.
