Rockingham: man charged with stealing cars and fuel

ROCKINGHAM detectives have charged a man with stealing cars, assault and stealing fuel.

Detectives charged the 31-year-old man on June 26 after an extensive investigation into several incidents in Rockingham and Success.

It is alleged around 3.30am on May 23, the man was involved in an incident on Val Street in Rockingham where a man in his 30s was assaulted and his car stolen.

Around 3pm on May 29, it is alleged the man stole items from a store in Waikiki and on June 3 stole items from a person and a car from Spencer Street in Bunbury. It is further alleged later that day, the man was driving the stolen car before the car was abandoned in Cockburn.

It is also alleged around 11pm on June 7, the man stole a vehicle in Success and on June 8 the vehicle was used in a fuel drive off in Bertram.

The man of no fixed address has been charged with four counts of stealing, three counts of stealing a motor vehicle, aggravated armed robbery, armed robbery, giving false personal details to police.

He is due to appear before the Rockingham Magistrates Court today.
