Rockingham: man fined for impatience after car accident

A MAN who wouldn’t wait for traffic to clear after an accident has been fined $800.

Khushwinder Singh Sran pleaded guilty to dangerous driving when at Rockingham Magistrates Court on April 24.

The prosecutor said a very serious accident on Thomas Road, Casuarina on November 29, 2016 had caused a backlog of cars of a few hundred metres long after roads were closed.

Police were present, instructing traffic to turn around and find another route.

Suddenly Sran accelerated heavily as he attempted a u-turn but misjudged and his car slid out on the gravel shoulder before hitting a power pole. There was no damage to the pole but Sran’s car had to be towed.

He told police he was late for work.

He was fined $800 and had his licence disqualified for six months.
