THE Rockingham parkrun will reach a significant milestone as this Saturday marks the 300th run.

Held in the pleasant surroundings of Churchill Park on the foreshore, this week’s event is sure to see some interesting dress options due to the event’s theme – dress as something beginning with the letter C.

Event organiser Claudia Wells explained why they chose the third letter of the alphabet.

“As 300 in Roman numerals is CCC that’s why we decided to get people to dress in something beginning with C,” she said.

“We started in 2013 and now our parkrun is the largest one in WA – week on week.

“This weekend we are looking at getting about 450 people turn out for the run.

“It is such a lovely location we encourage anyone interested to register for the event and they don’t have to run if they don’t want to – they can walk – it’s very relaxed,” she said.

Register at Parkrun and bring a printed copy of the barcode to record the times.

The event is free and participants are asked to meet at the southern end of the park for a briefing at 7.45am.

The five kilometre run starts at 8am.
