Rockingham podiatrist encourages foot health for National Diabetes Week

This year’s focus by Diabetes WA is on foot health and diabetes.

Rockingham podiatrist Amin Shevketoglu said Type 2 diabetes was the fastest growing chronic condition in Australia, increasing faster than other diseases such as heart disease and cancer.

“Diabetes causes 85 foot amputations in Australia every week, which equates to one foot amputation about every two hours,” he said.
