Later at 4.30pm it will set off along Arcadia Drive up to the intersection of First Avenue and Boundary Road.

The convoy then relocates to Rotary Park for the next stage along the Esplanade, finishing at Churchill Park at 5.30pm.

The Baton will be there until 6pm.

A community celebration event will commence in Churchill Park at 4.30pm and continue until 7pm.

Mayor Barry Sammels said it was an honour for the City to be involved in the baton relay.

“The City of Rockingham is very fortunate to be taking an active part in this internationally significant event,” he said.

“I encourage all our residents to come and support the baton bearers along the route, and join us at Churchill Park to share in the City’s moment as a Commonwealth Games celebration community.”

Baton bearers will be informed of their street-specific slotting location in December.

The Queen’s Baton will arrive on Australian soil in Brisbane on December 24, 2017.

Details will be updated at www.gc2018.com/qbr in the weeks prior to the Baton coming to Rockingham.
