Rockingham Residents Threatened In Car Jacking Attempts

ROCKINGHAM detectives believe three separate car jacking attempts involving a firearm are linked.

The first incident occurred on Parkin Street around 9am yesterday when a man knocked on the victim’s door and asked him to move his car.

When the victim left his house to move the vehicle he was approached by two men, one of whom produced a firearm and demanded the keys.

The victim handed over the keys and the three men drove off in his black Holden Commodore SV6 sedan, registration 1DLB655.

The vehicle is yet to be recovered.

Around 7.50pm last night, on Waterfront Parkway and Eldon Street in Shoalwater, two men riding bikes approached the second victim’s vehicle.

One of the men produced a firearm, tapped on the windscreen and asked the victim to wind down his window.

The victim refused and drove off.

The third incident occurred about 8pm on Fisher Street and Jubilee Street in Rockingham where the victim was parked.

A man approached, tapped on the window and produced a firearm.

He demanded the victim hand over his car keys. The man began to open the driver’s door however the victim was able to drive away.

The man involved in the first incident is described as being dark skinned, about 26 to 27 years old, with a solid build with short cropped black hair and well groomed facial hair.

He was wearing a black jumper with a zip up front that had a single white stripe down the right arm and a plain black t-shirt.

The man involved in the second incident is described as being tanned skinned with a slim build and unshaven.

He was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper and dark shorts.
