Rockingham singers, songwriters share message of hope

Jaime ShurmerWeekend Kwinana Courier

THE songwriting of 10 musicians who live with mental illness has been followed in Rockingham for a documentary on the album they will produce, Songs of Hope.

The musicians have been gathering in Rockingham to write and rehearse, led by Trys Reddick, of Passionate Lives, which partnered with Foundations for a Better Tomorrow to make use of the Foundation’s Rockingham recording studio.

The Songs of Hope project includes a mental health first aid course by Mr Reddick, a makeover session and professional photographs for each participant.

The documentary will be released as part of Mental Health Week in October.
