‘ROCKINGHAM Senior High School Education Support Centre Year 12 student Oscar Zanoli raised more than $100 for the RSPCA through a raffle he organised himself.

School officer Anne Meneghel said Oscar had shown initiative while on work placement at the school administration office.

Principal Caroline Mason gave Oscar the task of organising a fundraising raffle.

“He quickly got to work researching and choosing an organisation that he would like to donate the proceeds of the raffle to,” Ms Meneghel said.

“He then started creating and designing a flyer, raffle tickets and then began his advertising campaign to staff and students at the school.

“He sold more than 90 tickets.”

RSPCA WA executive manager community engagement Maree Daniels said the charity were appreciative of the effort Oscar made to raise funds for animals in need.

“RSPCA WA relies heavily on the generosity of the community to sustain its animal protection work, and without the support of caring and compassionate people like Oscar, we simply wouldn’t be able to do what we do,” she said.
