Rockingham teen charged with burglary after Cooloongup incidents

ROCKINGHAM Local Policing Team officers have charged a 15-year-old boy after reports of a person acting suspiciously in the Cooloongup area last Friday afternoon.

Police received information that a male person was seen leaving a residence on Woodbridge Drive about 3.15pm and an alarm was activated.

About 45 minutes later police received information that a person matching the same description was seen breaking a window at a residence in Brae Court.

Police said it appeared no entry was gained to either residence.

South Metropolitan Response Team and Regional Operations Group officers responded and conducted patrols of the area.

A short time later response team officers found a boy, who matched the descriptions provided, at the intersection of Woodbridge Drive and Brae Court.

He was arrested and taken to Rockingham Police Station.

The Rockingham teenager was charged with two counts of burglary with intent.

He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Perth Children’s Court at a later date.
