THE City of Rockingham invites local young people aged 12 to 18 to come along and enjoy the Youth Beach Party 2018.

The party features a freestyle rap performance by Marksman Lloyd at 3.30pm, tunes by DJ Jeremy Tucker, giant waterslides on the beach, free slushies by the Monster Slush Truck and a free sausage sizzle.

Headspace Rockingham Youth Reference Group will be in attendance with glitter face-painting.

The crew from Don’t Drink and Drown will be running beach volleyball competitions, with both courts in action.

City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels said the City was delighted at the attendance at the first Youth Beach Party in 2017.

“We had about 1000 attendees in 2017 and we are catering for up to 1500 in 2018,” he said.

“City Officers have reviewed and applied feedback from last year’s event and we are thrilled to offer local kids an even bigger, better event in 2018.

“The Youth Beach Party is one of the City’s most popular annual events for young people.

“It is a great opportunity for our younger residents to connect, relax and enjoy a day just for them.”

The City will provide shaded areas to chill out on the beach, bean bags, free water slides, security, first aid, mental health first aid and youth workers to support the young people to have an awesome afternoon in the sun.

The City of Rockingham Youth Beach Party is part of the City’s Summer Series of alcohol-free events.

Young people will be required to have their bags checked on arrival and will pick up a wristband from City staff to join in. This event is accessible to people with disability.
