ROCKINGHAM Rugby Union Club has continued its unbeaten start to the 2016 A grade season, downing top of the table rivals Southern Lions in a hotly contested tie 25-22 away from home.

Bodie Etheredge continued his fine try-scoring form, grabbing a double to take his season tally to 13.

Jayden Briggs also hit the board for Rocky as it claimed the three-point away win to secure its place on top of the Championship A grade table.

The news was not so good for the B grade side, narrowly going down to the Lions 23-20.

The three-try-to-two loss is Rockingham’s third loss this year and its second by less than four points.

David Hacking and Joseph Briggs were the scorers for Rockingham.

Meanwhile the Colts posted a big win, downing the Lions 48-22 thanks to a hat trick from Bitner Tumanuvao.

Tyron Mullholland, Khaleel Haeane, Ethan Cayless, Slade Bools and Lachlan Westwood also crossed on their side’s way to the 26-point victory, rising to sixth.

This week will feature Championship A and B on Perth Irish at Lark Hill, while the Colts will travel to Perth Bayswater.
