Scarborough man (79) charged with historical child sex offences by Rockingham detectives

ROCKINGHAM detectives have charged a 78-year-old man after an investigation into historical allegations of child sexual abuse from four decades ago.

Detectives say the man, who was the owner of a gardening and handyman business in 1979 when the alleged incidents took place, repeatedly abused a 15-year-old boy.

The boy was the employed as the man’s assistant.

The man, who lives in Scarborough, was charged with 10 counts of unlawful and indecent assault and one count of carnal knowledge against nature.

He will appear in the Rockingham Magistrates Court today.
