SCIENTIST Sharon Eyer shared her knowledge with students as part of the WA National Science Week event Science Cafe.

Dr Eyer is a principal research scientist in Alcoa’s global Technology Delivery Group (TDG), based in Kwinana.

She manages the Geochemistry and Applied Physics team.

It was the first time Dr Eyer had participated in the event.

Students rotated between tables attended by two scientists to learn more about different branches of science.

During the last rotation, they were given the opportunity to return to the table they found most interesting.

“I know it’s not a competition, but I was secretly pleased to be surrounded by at least 15 students interested in chemistry,” Dr Eyer said.

“We even had to add more chairs to the table.”
