THE search for kayaker Stephen Angel, missing off Point Peron, has been suspended pending further information.
Police announced they had suspended the search at 1.20pm on Friday.
The search resumed this morning, with Airwing & Water Police re-deployed to the area.
The land search continued with mounted police conducting sweeps of the beachfront after Mr Angel’s kayak was located upside down off Point Peron yesterday.
Emergency services began a search for Mr Angel after he was reported missing on Wednesday, but were forced to pull back around 3pm on Thursday because of poor weather.
The experienced kayaker had activated his personal locator beacon around 11am on Wednesday.
So far only his kayak, a kayak paddle and the beacon have been found.
Speaking to media yesterday, his step-daughters Katie and Anna Marelic said the 59-year-old was extremely fit and healthy, and often kayaked around Shoalwater and Point Peron.
