PARTS of Rockingham experienced the full force of damaging winds last night including Secret Harbour Shopping centre – where its sign was blown to the ground.

Secret Harbour resident Nathaniel Voce took the picture above of the weather-beaten fallen sign.

“I drove past it around 9pm and took the picture but I didn’t see it fall,” he said.

“I rang the shop security guard and alerted him”.

A Department of Fires and Emergency Services spokeswoman said in the last 24 hours the south metro coastal area, spanning from Mandurah, Rockingham, Cockburn and Melville, experienced 23 DFES reports in total.

“A pergola was lifted and blown in to the fence of a neighbouring yard in Safety Bay and sheets were blown off a roof in Port Kennedy,” she said.

DFES confirmed no one was reported injured during the storm.
