Soup night in Wellard to benefit the community

THE Village at Wellard Residents Association will be hosting another Soup night.

Based on the famous Detroit Soup events of the early 2010s, Wellard Neighbourhood Soup is a community dinner with a difference – the ticket money is pooled and given to a community member or group to develop their community project.

Community members are invited to attend the event at a cost of $10 and will receive a bowl of soup, bread and a ‘voting chip’.

Diners will hear from four ‘pitchers’ who will be given four minutes to present their community project that will be of benefit to the community.

Diners will then have the opportunity to ask questions and at the conclusion of the night cast a vote for their favourite project.

The pitcher with the most votes will be awarded the takings from the night, allowing their project to come to life.

Individuals and groups should submit their projects for consideration by Friday, October 26.
