FOR more than 50 years, volunteers have spread Christmas cheer through the famous Kwinana Christmas Lolly Run and it is back this year.

Volunteers from Kwinana Rotary Club and City of Kwinana will don Christmas apparel and hand out lolly bags from vintage cars around local streets on Christmas morning.

Mayor Carol Adams said the run had grown to cover more streets over the years as the City’s population grew.

‘This is a wonderful tradition that has been passed down for generations,’ she said.

‘Over 100 volunteers get involved, including packing the lolly bags and delivering them.

‘It is something that sets us apart and really shows the community spirit we have here in Kwinana.’

The run will be touring local streets from 7.30am to 11.30am on Christmas Day.
