Vanessa SchmittWeekend Kwinana Courier

ST Bernadette’s Primary School students donned pyjamas and onesies for school to raise money for homelessness.

Students raised money for Lifelink as part of the charity agency’s winter appeal.

Student leaders organised the pyjama day also to raise awareness amongst students of how wide-reaching homelessness can be.

Prefects Alyssa Turner and Jemima Law said there were about 9500 people who are homeless but there are another 7000 people who live in insecure housing.

“They may not be sure of where they may be sleeping from one night to the next,” Alyssa said.

“We are hoping that all the students at St Bernadette’s are reminded of how lucky we are to be safe and warm each night in our beds in winter.”
