Teens arrested following Rockingham armed robbery

TWO people were charged by Rockingham Detectives yesterday following an aggravated robbery.

They allege that between 4:30pm and 5pm a man and woman approached two men sitting on a bench in Anniversary Park.

They demanded their mobile phones before assaulting them both.

One man received a deep laceration to his lip that required stitches.

The victims handed over their mobile phones and the offenders left the area.

Rockingham Detectives investigated the incident and arrested two people that evening at a residential property in Merope Close, Rockingham.

An 18-year-old man from Rockingham was charged with aggravated robbery, cultivating a prohibited plant and possessing a prohibited drug.

He will appear in Rockingham Magistrates Court today, July 11.

A 14-year-old girl from Rockingham was charged with one count of aggravated robbery. She will appear in the Rockingham Children’s Court on August 3.
