Tony Galati reveals tilt at politics an April Fools hoax

Declan ByrneWeekend Kwinana Courier

SPUD Shed owner Tony Galati has staged one of this year’s best April Fools pranks, admitting his announcement to enter state politics this morning was a hoax.

Mr Galati claimed he was going to run as an independent for the state seat of Baldivis while on 6PR this morning.

The enigmatic businessman even claimed he would don his signature blue singlet in Parliament should he be elected.

However, about an hour after the interview, Mr Galati announced it had all been an elaborate prank but he did not completely rule out a career in State politics in the future.
