Tranby College: Clayton Massey officially commissioned as Baldivis school’s principal

TRANBY College officially commissioned Clayton Massey as principal last Wednesday at the college grounds.

Officiated by Reverend David de Kock, General Secretary of the Uniting Church in Australia, WA Synod, College captains Luke Day and Jaymi Evans, and College chaplain Tene Moore, Dr Massey was presented with the symbols of College culture and house spirit by representatives of the staff and student body.

The Tranby College community welcomed Rev de Kock, Rev Steve Francis, Moderator of UCA WA, Mr Reece Whitby, principals from fellow Uniting Church schools, former colleagues of Dr Massey from Guildford Grammar School, past and present members of the College Board, parents and friends in witnessing the formal commissioning.

Tranby’s VET Hospitality students displayed their talents and skills, offering canapes and refreshments prior to the commencement the occasion.

The colleges’ arts programs were also on display as the combined junior and senior school choirs, accompanied by a string ensemble, performed renditions of the hymn Here I am Lord and the hit song Lanterns by Birds of Tokyo.

A humbled Dr Massey reiterated his passion and commitment to the families of the college to be a good-hearted and good-humoured, loving, well-intentioned and open-minded educator who can make a real difference to the lives of their children.
